0=1 –polygenesis-

Hitoshi Kuriyama believes “The beginning of our universe might have been the end of another universe.” For 0=1 -polygenesis-, the artist is inspired by the Big Bang theory and the vacuum produced by it. The emptiness inside this installation’s broken tubes symbolizes the beginning of the cosmos. Kuriyama’s artwork encapsulates what he believes is the same creation-process theory as the universe—creation through destruction.
